The Cornetto Triliogy is a trilogy of films written by Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg and directed by Edgar Wright. Each film has entirley different plots, characters, and genres. The only thing that connects each film is the fact that all three films have the same two main actors and each film has a small mention/cameo of Cornetto Ice Cream. This project is an example of what the ficticious company "Take Two" would do, i.e. Magazine and Instagram Ads, products like T-Shirts and Posters, and new Blu Ray cases.
A month before each film would come out, its respective ad would start to show up on people's Instagram feeds. The ad campaign focuses on the main actor/screenwriter Simon Pegg since each film has him playing a wildly different character for each outing. Each portrait would showcase a prominent quote from each movie, and then on a second slide they would show the title of the movie, and when they would be in theatres.
Where the Instagram ads focus on the star power of the films, these ads focus on the genres. Each has a prominent illustration related to the film paired with the hand-drawn title. Like the Instagram ads, these would show up a month before the films were in theatres in Empire Magazine.
While each film is in theatres, there will be a corresponding poster that can be bought at the concession stand. Each poster is comprised of Saul Bass style cut outs that make up an icon that is representative of the film. Each cut out is filled with a small sillhoete of items that make up the elements of the film. The first poster shown below would be used to advertise the trilogy and will be displayed outside the theatre as an advertisement to theatre patrons. It is comprised of elements that make up the other three posters.
Along with the posters, there would be a t-shirt for sale in theatres for each film. Each shirt would comprise of elements from the films, and they all make up the shape of an ice cream cone. They also prominanly show the hand drawn title for each film as well.
Once all three films are no longer showing in theatres, all three will be re-released at retailers with new cover art that fits in line with the rest of the products and advertisements.
